IF YOU GIVE A GIRL TAKIS

For two years, I’ve volunteered with a fifth grader who missed the early years of school due to COVID school shut downs. English is her second language, and reading is tough. She loves Takis more than anyone else I know.

As a passion project, I wrote a book just for her, inspired by one of my childhood favorites, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. She gets to read it and illustrate it herself and my hope is this will bring her joy in reading.
